Cetrimide (mainly tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide) has antiseptic and detergent properties. It is used in antiseptic creams and solutions, often with chlorhexidine, and in medicated shampoos.
It is supplied as a white powder in pharmacopoeia (BP) grade.
