Overview
Dichloromethane dissolves a very wide range of resins and coatings and evaporates fast. It is used as a process and extraction solvent in pharmaceuticals, a blowing agent in polyurethane foam, and in adhesives and degreasing.
Its use in consumer paint strippers is restricted in many markets; industrial users must manage exposure under occupational limits.
