Overview
Phenoxyethanol is effective against bacteria and, in blends, yeasts and moulds. It is stable across a broad pH and temperature range and is permitted at up to 1% in cosmetics in many markets.
It is a clear, slightly oily liquid with a faint rose odour, also used as a fragrance fixative and solvent.
