Overview
TDI 80/20 — a mix of 2,4 and 2,6 isomers — reacts with polyols and water to make the flexible foam in mattresses, furniture and car seats. It is also used in coatings, sealants and elastomers.
TDI is a respiratory sensitiser. It is supplied in nitrogen-blanketed drums and must be handled with strict exposure controls.
